The company was founded by the Stevens brothers (Harry, George, Jack, and Joe). The initials AJS were chosen after Albert John “Jack” Stevens, the only brother with two middle names.
Racing Dominance: AJS quickly became a household name at the Isle of Man TT, winning the Junior TT in 1914 and taking the first four places in 1921.
